Dear Champions,

Hi, I am Thomas Welsh. Special Olympics Florida has been a big part of my life for the past 15 years.  I found Special Olympics in elementary school and ever since I have been “hooked”. My sports have been basketball, swimming, tennis, track, running, golf, pickleball, and triathlons. I most recently completed an IRONMAN Triathlon. That is a 140-mile race! I am passionate about inclusion and believe that if I can do it – you can do it!

My biggest accomplishments are completing the Ironman, achieving a degree in college, being employed with the same employer for more than six years in a “thinking” job, and staying loyal and steadfast in my faith. I am grounded in my faith and commitment to being the best I can be for a better world.

My advice to you is GET INVOLVED. Know that there are resources and people who want you to succeed. If someone tells you “You can’t do that” – Say YES, I CAN. If I can – you can…it all starts with telling yourself that “I CAN DO THIS”
