Welcome to FLPD's virtual law enforcement torch run for special olympics florida team
The mission of the Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) is to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement. Started in 1983, LETR became the movement's largest public awareness and fundraising group for Special Olympics. FLPD has been participating in the law enforcement torch run for many years.
Law enforcement officers, together with Special Olympics athletes, carry the torch through our communities with the flame symbolizing courage and celebration of diversity uniting communities around the globe.
Through the LETR and Special Olympics partnership we are lighting the way for acceptance and inclusion. LETR is changing the future for people with intellectual disabilities.
Please join us in being a "Virtual Guardian of the Flame," and help share a message with the courageous Special Olympics athletes that covid can not stop us!
Did you know that more than 58,000 unified partners and athletes with intellectual disabilities receive health exams and compete in year-round sports competitions at no cost to them or their families? By raising funds, even more athletes will get to experience the joy of sports through the programs of Special Olympics Florida.
