Freezin' for a Reason - 2022/2023 Plungin' Season
Friends and family,
By now you know the drill. You know this is my seventh annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. You know that through events like the Plunge, Special Olympics Florida provides over 60,000 Floridians with year-round sports competition, athletic training, annual health exams, and a safe and inclusive environment--completely free of charge. And you know that Special Olympics relies on fundraisers like the Polar Plunge to do that essential work.
Last year, we raised just shy of $7,000! This year, I'm hoping we can crush that number, and raise $8,000 for Special Olympics' amazing athletes.
So I'm upping the ante. Or, more precisely, upping the embarrassment factor.
Like every year, everyone who donates $100 or more gets a video of my Polar Plunge.
But for those donors motivated by shame and pain, donating $250 or more gets you something even better. Those generous donors each get to vote on which costume I'll wear, while standing on Bayshore Boulevard, during a Monday rush hour, holding a "Honk if you Support Special Olympics" sign. Yep. These lucky donors get to nominate a costume, then vote on which of the nominations I'll don.
If you're unfamiliar with Bayshore, it's the beautiful, busy street connecting South Tampa to downtown. And it's jam packed Monday mornings.
Whatever you're called to donate, thank you. Special Olympics does important work and I'm grateful for your support.
