I’m Aarushi, and I want to ask you a question: Which of these statements about me are true?
• I’m an artist
• I’m a fashion designer
• I’m a competitive swimmer
• I’m someone with autism
The answer is “all of the above.” I’m all those things, and much, much, more. Some people don’t see that, but Special Olympics Florida does.
It knows that people with autism want what everyone wants – respect, opportunity, acceptance. The programs of Special of Olympics Florida have boosted my confidence, helped me make friends, and transformed me into an advocate. I even helped design the logo for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games.
I’m sharing this with you, because I’d like you to join a new Special Olympics Florida campaign called the “Race for Inclusion.” It’s a nine-month effort to create communities of respect and acceptance across the state. The campaign will feature a series of races and events designed for everyone. It will help 60,000 athletes like me live richer, fuller lives.
I’m proud to be part of it, and I hope you’ll join me by participating or making a donation.
