FGCU is proud to support Special Olympics Florida's annual Race for Inclusion walk/run 5K to help raise awareness for their local programs. This event supports Special Olympics Florida's work to provide year-round sports training and competition, health services, leadership development, and inclusive programming to 60,000 athletes. These programs and services are offered at no cost to the athletes or families that they serve.
The Community Autism Network (CAN) is spearheading this team effort. We hope to make our FGCU eagle spirit visible to our community on THE NEW DATE OF THE RACE Saturday, December 18th at Jet Blue Park. Registration begins at 7:00 am and the race will start promptly at 8:00 am.
We want to emphasize that you do not have to be competitive or run to participate. Participants are encouraged to take part by walking/jogging and/or donating to help us reach our goal of supporting the Special Olympics community. If you would like to donate, set the personal goal to whatever you feel comfortable with in order to support our team.
Click DONATE NOW or JOIN TEAM to help us reach our goal! And feel free to leave a note on this page telling us why you’re a Champion for inclusion!
