Special Olympics Florida Inc uses sports as a platform to unite people with intellectual disabilities with the rest of the community. It promotes inclusion and a real social movement – not only through sports and competition, but also by providing health screenings, leadership opportunities and skill-building for all althetes at no cost to them.
So, by volunteering, you’d be a part a 38,000 strong group that is growing and whose effects will continue for years to come. You will be a part of something that will better the lives of people with intellectual disabilities in an immediate way.
Volunteers have an opportunity to assist in a variety of programs at a local, regional and statewide level.
Some opportunities require long-term commitments and specific skills. Other opportunities require limited time commitments and less specific sports skills but are just as important to the overall success of the program.
